Safety Tat Review

Safety Tat's are another invention brought on out of necessity. A Mother, Michele Welsh, was concerned for her children while going to an amusement park. She decided to write her phone number on each child as a safety precaution. She became frustrated that she had to re-write the numbers over the course of the day and a few times she was stopped and asked if her children had her phone number on them, and that day an invention was born.


I had a chance to check out both the standard temporary Safety Tat tattoos as well as their newer type, which is the Quick Stick. I was intrigued by the idea of the Safety Tat's purpose, and wanted to see what they were like. I was really impressed that I was able to get a pack of original Safety Tat's pre printed with my phone number. That means that I don't have hurry up and stick it on my daughter with the water, and then write my phone number down on each one.


The pack I received contained a permanent black ink marker, 18 safety tats, a few quick stick safety tats to check out, and a sticker. There are gender specific tats, allergy alerts, and multiple designs. The allergy alerts were genius. If you are going to have a sitter, or someone that isn't familiar with your child, they are a great way for them to know and remember. I think it would be a great idea to even add the medical alerts to their line for children with diabetes, etc.

My main thoughts

At first glance, I wasn't all that interested. After reviewing their site, thinking about the situations that I will be in that would require something like this product, I quickly jumped on the bandwagon. This is definitely a need regarding safety. The only downside is that these stick on really well. So well that the quick stick was pulling my daughter's skin a bit. It stuck like an amazingly sticky bandaid and she wasn't too pleased with my husband taking it off. As with normal temporary tattoos, these will be on for a few days.

Frecklebox Review

Have you heard of Frecklebox? Catchy name, right? I hadn't heard about it until I saw it on another blog. And once again, here's a plug for all the social media founders. They really knew what they were doing. Anyway, I contacted Mark(one of the founders) from Frecklebox and advised that I would love to review their product and find out what they're all about.

They were gracious enough to oblige and I received a soft bound book of my choice, very quickly I might add. The core of their business is to educate and entertain. They have created a line of personalized products for children to do just that.

I picked the softbound book, "My Name Is..." and had my daughter Kaia's name added. I opened the box immediately because well, I love getting packages and I really wanted to see what it looked like. The pages are high gloss and coated. The images are really amazingly crisp. I was not sure how my two year old would do with a softbound book but, the pages are really tough and so far no problems. The pictures they chose for this particular book are gorgeous. There's ocean, autumn, flowers, and a sunny blue sky day. The prices are very reasonable as the most expensive item they carry is $34.95.

The company was a hit with service, and truth be told many people that I have recently talked to have sung praises of their professionalism and personal attention. The product I received was a hit for both myself and my toddler. The only bummer? There's not enough merchandise to choose from. I am sure that will quickly remedy!

Tiny Tag Designs-Customer Service KUDOS!

I had the pleasure of winning a contest in February, and the prize was a little girls heart shaped silver pendant with my daughter's initial on it. Adorable anyways and I know, super popular right now!

My information was sent to Melissa Clayton, the owner of Tiny Tag Designs. Some time went by and I received an email from her directly inquiring if I had received the necklace I won. I advised her that I hadn't and she said she would send it right away.

Another week or so went by and I hadn't received it so I emailed her and she apologized profusely, didn't make much excuse but, had been busy. She advised that she had finished my necklace and would be sending it out immediately. She also offered an additional item at no cost for the wait. I advised her that it was up to her if she wanted to do that and thanked her.

So, as you're reading this you may say, "she made you wait, so how is this great customer service?". Well, my answer is that I have worked in the service industry for many years. I have heard excuses and complaining alike. I have dealt with people who have a sense of entitlement many times over. The true heart of service is what remains with me.

At my previous job I was asked to read Raving Fans. If you've ever read it you know what I'm talking about. Melissa has made me a raving fan. I won this necklace, I didn't pay for it and yet she made good on it and then some. She was concerned about my experience.

I received the necklaces and they are DARLING! There's a ball chain on one and a sturdy box chain on the child's necklace. I purchased a hand stamped washer necklace from someone on Etsy and the quality wasn't that great. Melissa's are small and cute. They are clean looking and perfect for multiple discs if you don't want a bunch of stuff cluttering your neck. Personalized is the thing to have now and she grabbed it by the reigns.

And, if that's not enough kudos for her, she also does this as a one woman show basically while caring for her husband and two children. That's deserves an added THANK YOU from me. I am a woman with an entrepreneurial spirit as well and am always excited to see a woman successful at doing what she does as well as trying to be there for her family.
