Potty Training!

Kaia has been sitting on the pot casually for about a month or so. She has shown readiness signs here and there. She hasn't shown any fear of the toilet so, I kept putting her on. She NEVER had an accidental pee or poop experience so I wasn't sure if she was gonna potty train now or a little later.

This last week she has been telling me immediately that she has gone whether it's pee or poop. I said to myself "now is the time!". I bought her training underwear and she was going to the bathroom like she would in a diaper in those. I decided to let her go naked from the waist down.

Voila!

Kaia is very aware when she is getting wet. She will say "ewww" when she has to go haha. It's really adorable. I have been taking her cues and 9 times out of 10 she hasn't gone. When she does though, she gets praises and a sticker from the dollar store!!!

The last two days have been busy so when we are at home I try to stick with potty stuff. Amazingly in two days she has done awesome! Only one accident so far. She has been holding the poo in and so I was trying to coax her a little. She finally had to go and started to squat so we went to the potty and she pooped! She looked a little concerned but, I told her it was ok and we clapped and she flushed. Two minutes after she got down, she ran to the toilet and went pee on her own without me having to rush her to the toilet.

Needless to say, I am so proud of her! She is becoming more aware of her body and more aware of everything for that matter. She is starting to really use her words which has led to less frustration for sure. I am so excited that she is growing and becoming more and more independent. I love experiencing all of this with her.

My heart is so full!
